About this grant
The Connecting Communities in the Americas (formerly known as Building Broader Communities in the Americas) initiative, managed by CFLeads and implemented in partnership with the Inter-American Foundation, aims to build stronger, more resilient communities throughout the Americas by enhancing the effectiveness of community foundations’ responsiveness to them. The initiative helps to increase understanding of transnational communities in the hemisphere, strengthen relationships among community foundations and transnational stakeholders to solve common problems, advance knowledge about community foundation practices that can support transnational communities and encourage more effective giving in Latin America and the Caribbean. A grant increase will support an additional transnational community mapping project, travel stipends for U.S. and Canadian community foundation representatives to participate in an event in Gaudalajara, Mexico and short-term consultant fees for the initiative. CFLeads is a U.S.-based national network of community foundations committed to community leadership.
