About this grant
The program goal is to encourage community foundations to advance the Sustainable Development Goals at the local level. To this end, starting in October 2021, the Community Foundation for Greater Flint has developed a framework for mapping grantee outcomes and donor-advised funds in the areas of education and equity; completed a comprehensive analysis of recent funds distributed and their alignment with the goals; assessed existing data measures utilized by the foundation, its partners and grantees; and aligned its community engagement work on racial equity with the goals. In the coming grant period, the grantee will expand its Sustainable Development Goal alignment efforts to its finance, operations and community leadership areas; develop a community dashboard; raise awareness about the goals with grantees and key partners; and further integrate and operationalize the goals in its work. Founded in 1988, the Community Foundation for Greater Flint is a major local philanthropic entity that strives to accelerate equitable and sustainable improvements in the quality of life for all Genesee County residents.
