Alabama Statewide Afterschool Network

About this grant

This grant will support Voices for Alabama’s Children which coordinates the Alabama State Afterschool Network to expand access to high-quality afterschool programs for young people. Specific initiatives will include: 1) create a framework to expand school-age childcare and educate policy makers on the importance of state funding policies and program quality investments; 2) inform statewide policies that allocate the necessary funding and resources to sustain both new and existing school-based and school-linked afterschool programs; 3) work with education stakeholders and policymakers to design and implement education recovery funding to help Alabama youth recover and thrive; 4) work with the Mott Foundation to design future afterschool programs and ecosystems; and 5) support the promotion and distribution of Mizzen Education, Inc. resources.
