West Virginia Statewide Afterschool Network

About this grant

This grant will support the West Virginia University Research Corporation which coordinates the West Virginia Statewide Afterschool Network to expand access to high-quality afterschool programs for young people. Specific initiatives will include: 1) explore partnerships with workforce and economic stakeholders to develop programming for youth professional skills, career exploration, and grow visibility of afterschool as an economic driver; 2) increase program quality by continuing to drive the improvement of statewide quality systems and develop new, aligned professional development resources; 3) work with education stakeholders to design and implement education recovery funding to help West Virginia youth recover and thrive; 4) work with the Mott Foundation to design future afterschool programs and ecosystems; and 5) support the promotion and distribution of Mizzen Education, Inc. resources.
