About this grant

Michigan Trout Unlimited is among the state’s leading organizations working to protect and conserve cold water streams and healthy aquatic habitats in Michigan. With previous support from the Mott Foundation, the grantee has made progress on water management and large-quantity water withdrawal programs, dam management and dam removal and member engagement on Great Lakes environmental health issues. With renewed support, Michigan Trout Unlimited will continue to help improve the state’s water use and withdrawal program, advise landowners on dam removals and educate the public about threats to the Great Lakes, including invasive species and climate change impacts on watersheds.
