Forming and Strengthening a Network of Community Foundations in Costa Rica

About this grant

The project goal is to support the formation and strengthening of community foundations in Costa Rica. To this end, the Forever Costa Rica Association will strengthen the existing network of seven Costa Rican community foundations by developing a financial sustainability strategy and providing capacity-building workshops. The grantee will also organize and conduct domestic and international learning exchanges and award matching grant funds to network members aimed at stimulating local giving. The grantee will develop a communications strategy for the network and raise awareness about community foundations throughout the country with the anticipation of identifying at least two new prospects to join the network by the end of the two-year grant period. The Forever Costa Rica Association was created in 2010 to enhance partnerships and mobilize resources for biodiversity conservation and human well-being in Costa Rica.
