About this grant
The National Wildlife Federation’s Great Lakes Regional Center is a leader in engaging partners to work toward the protection and restoration of the Great Lakes. The grantee leverages policy, legal, communications, education and scientific expertise to support sound policies and leads several coalitions representing conservation, business, tribal and urban constituencies. With previous Mott Foundation support, the grantee has advanced protection and restoration of the Great Lakes on issues ranging from invasive species to emerging contaminants to water affordability. With renewed support, the National Wildlife Federation, through continued coalition building, will deepen its work to protect people and wildlife from threats to the Great Lakes posed by climate change, water pollution, invasive species, dangerous chemicals and resource extraction.
