About this grant

The Flint Cultural Center Corporation manages and maintains the 38-acre Flint Cultural Center campus — which encompasses: 1) the Flint Cultural Center Academy; 2) Flint Institute of Arts; 3) Flint Institute of Music; 4) the Whiting; 5) Capitol Theatre; 6) Flint Public Library; and 7) Flint Institute of Science and History (Sloan Museum of Discovery and Longway Planetarium). The campus contributes positively to the quality of life in Flint through educational and cultural enrichment opportunities and has a significant economic impact through earned revenue and employment. Students and adults of all ability levels participate in or attend a variety of cultural, educational and instructional programs and activities across the campus. This grant will provide general purposes support to the Flint Cultural Center Corporation for campus improvements, grounds and maintenance, marketing and campus security.
