About this grant
The purpose of the grant is to implement transformative projects that leave a sustainable and positive impact on Flint neighborhoods. Genesee County Habitat for Humanity works with neighborhood associations, block clubs and other local grassroots groups on leadership development and other forms of capacity building. This grant will provide support for the Flint BRAND Program, which builds the capacity of neighborhood groups to conceptualize, plan and implement projects. These projects will immediately impact neighborhood conditions and improve Flint residents’ quality of life. Founded in 1990, Genesee County Habitat for Humanity is an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing ministry. Its mission is to bring people together to build homes, communities and hope.
