About this grant
This grant will provide funding to the Community Foundation of Greater Flint, convener of the Greater Flint Coronavirus Taskforce on Racial Inequities, to support capacity-building work for eight Flint-based nonprofit organizations led by people of color. The philanthropic subcommittee of the Taskforce recognized the need for a new approach to building capacity among Black-led and Black-serving organizations in the community. The subcommittee identified Enterprising Ventures of Color as a strong provider with experience in increasing capacity and developing resources for organizations. Community Foundation of Greater Flint will work with Enterprising Ventures of Color to facilitate a two-year program that will provide resources to enhance operations at the eight Flint-based nonprofit organizations selected, while simultaneously building individual and organizational capacity within these organizations. The program also will offer activities and roundtable sessions for other nonprofit leaders and funders that aim to increase trust-based philanthropy.
