About this grant

Michigan Public (formerly known as Michigan Radio) is a public radio station whose license is held by the University of Michigan. It is the most-listened-to public radio station in Michigan, with an audience of more than 1.5 million listeners. Over the past four years, with support from the Mott Foundation, the station has enhanced its coverage of water issues in the Great Lakes basin with stories that are broadcast and appear on the station’s website. Michigan Public is also a pillar of the Great Lakes News Collaborative, a Mott-funded initiative to enhance news coverage of the Great Lakes and water issues. Renewed support will enable the University of Michigan to continue this work through Michigan Public while reaching out to younger listeners with new types of social media content about the Great Lakes and water issues.
