About this grant

This grant to the Community Foundation of Greater Flint will establish a permanent operations and maintenance endowment for the new state park in Flint. The park — comprised of approximately 230 acres — will be anchored at Chevy Commons in the heart of the city and include Riverbank Park, Happy Hollow Nature Preserve and Mott Park Recreation Area. A number of public, private and philanthropic partners have worked together to establish the first state park in Genesee County, previously the only county in Michigan without one. The park will be accessible to residents and visitors as a safe and welcoming place to recreate for enjoyment and overall health and well-being.
