About this grant
The Illinois Environmental Council Education Fund was established in 1975 and has over 100 affiliates working to protect water resources in the state, including the Lake Michigan basin. As part of its Clean Water Program, the grantee builds coalitions and educates the public and decision-makers about water issues. With previous support from the Mott Foundation, the grantee has raised awareness and made progress on several issues facing the state and region, including lead service line replacement, toxic chemical pollution reduction and invasive species control. With renewed support, the Illinois Environmental Council Education Fund will further the goals of its Clean Water Program with a focus on safe and affordable drinking water.
