China-Latin America Sustainable Investments Initiative

About this grant

The China-Latin America Sustainable Investment Initiative, a project of the Bank Information Center, partners with organizations in South America to monitor Chinese investments and enhance social and environmental standards governing Chinese-financed projects in the region. During the previous grant period, the initiative updated its manual on Chinese social and environmental guidelines and expanded its support for Latin American partners addressing the impacts of Chinese development finance in the region. The renewal grant will enable the initiative to advance its efforts by producing in-depth reports on Chinese-funded projects, building and strengthening relationships with Chinese stakeholders and expanding its network of civil society organizations in Latin America and globally. The initiative will also provide updates on Chinese investments, prepare policy briefs, create informative content on Chinese guidelines and policies and host capacity-building events for partner groups in the region.
