About this grant
This grant will provide funding to McFarlan Charitable Corporation for the renovation of Court Street Village, an affordable senior housing complex. Court Street Village includes two separate buildings, both of which will undergo a full renovation. The renovation includes all new plumbing, heating ventilation and cooling, painting, cabinetry, flooring, appliances and exterior finishes. Upon completion, the two buildings will include 268 units of senior housing in Flint, which includes 39 assisted living and memory support units not previously available at the location. Of the 268 units, 256 will be affordable housing units, including 37 of the 39 assisted living units. Flint has over 13,000 seniors living within the city with average household incomes significantly below the state average. The renovation will provide much needed quality housing to serve these residents.
