About this grant

This grant provides funding to the University of Michigan’s Michigan Radio to support replacement and installation of the outdated transmitter that is currently being used for WFUM-FM broadcasts. Michigan Radio’s WFUM-FM is the only public radio station available to Flint area residents and is responsible for providing the community with fair and fact-based news coverage, weather alerts and emergency broadcast notifications. A new transmitter would ensure that Flint area residents have continued free access to a trusted media source for years to come.
