About this grant
The purpose of this increase is to support the philanthropic and nonprofit sector’s response to Hurricane Fiona. To this end, Philanthropy Puerto Rico supports, educates and helps strengthen its members, grantees and the sector broadly. During the previous grant period, the grantee advocated on behalf of the nonprofit sector, convened and educated the sector and provided support to nonprofits. During this grant period, the grantee will expand its membership, inform and connect its network and support nonprofits through the Forward Fund. The grantee will accomplish this by organizing third sector disaster recovery and resiliency efforts, catalyzing additional funds for recovery and compiling available resources for individuals and nonprofits. Established in 2009 by seven leading foundations, Philanthropy Puerto Rico exists to enhance the ability of philanthropy and nonprofit organizations to improve the lives of vulnerable populations.
