About this grant
The purpose of this grant is to help address the long-standing and emerging issues facing migrants in the Americas. Alianza Americas’ mission is to bring about a more inclusive, equitable and sustainable way of life for under-served migrant communities in the United States and across Mexico and Central America. During the previous grant period, the grantee led delegations to international forums, supported transnational coalitions and uplifted the voices of migrants through various media and capacity-building initiatives. During this grant period, the grantee will: 1) strengthen transnational networks; 2) educate policymakers; 3) host delegations; 4) advocate on behalf of migrants; and 5) support its membership. Founded in 2004 by Mexican, Central American and Caribbean migrant leaders, Alianza Americas is a network of over 55 members in 18 states, representing over 150,000 migrant families across the United States, with dozens of organizational partners in Mexico and Central America.
