About this grant
For more than 45 years, the Northeast-Midwest Institute has provided research, data, policy analysis and education to inform state and federal policy reforms and programs, with an emphasis on the Great Lakes. With previous Mott Foundation support, the grantee made progress on several initiatives to inform freshwater policy on issues such as harmful algal blooms and invasive species, helping to improve the economic and environmental conditions in the region. With renewed support, the Northeast-Midwest Institute will continue to engage in policy education and coalition building to deliver on its initiatives and programs for the benefit of the region.
