About this grant

Conectas is a Brazilian nongovernmental agency, founded in 2001, working on strengthening social and environmental governance and accountability of development finance institutions. Over the past grant period, the grantee worked to ensure the Brazilian Development Bank, the New Development Bank and the Inter-American Development Bank strengthen and comply with social and environmental safeguards and climate commitments. The grantee’s attorneys also worked with communities impacted by large-scale energy finance and development. Over the next project period, Conectas will continue its focus on national and international financial institutions and will deepen its analysis and communication of the impacts of Chinese development finance in the region.
