About this grant
The project goal is to enhance civic space by bridging the digital divide and increasing digital equity in Latin America. Connect Humanity is a nonprofit impact fund established in 2021 and registered in the state of California as a 501(c)(3) organization. After successful research into Brazil’s internet infrastructure and training of small internet service providers, the grantee seeks to further its programming in the country toward international expansion. During the grant period, the grantee will grow existing initiatives by training representatives of community-focused internet service providers on investment readiness. As part of its capacity development, the grantee will hire an investment manager to deliver a landscape analysis and case study report on successful development finance investment mechanisms and models from other sectors, including climate finance. To maximize its impact, Connect Humanity will strengthen relationships with the private sector and governmental agencies and advocate for an enabling regulatory environment conducive to the needs of small internet service providers and the communities they serve.
