About this grant
This grant to the Petoskey-Harbor Springs Area Community Foundation will support the communications capacity building and technical assistance work of Freshwater Future. Since 1996, Freshwater Future has provided over $5.8 million through over 1,400 grants for capacity building and technical assistance to groups working to protect and restore water in the Great Lakes region. With prior Mott Foundation support, Freshwater Future worked with a communications consulting firm to provide technical support to organizations active in the Great Lakes basin to strengthen their communications capacity. Through this grant, the Petoskey-Harbor Springs Area Community Foundation will assist Freshwater Future as they continue working with a consulting firm, expand the pool of organizations receiving direct technical support, and provide training and tools to program participants and other organizations on effective communications strategies.
