About this grant

This grant supports the Council on Foundations’ Global Philanthropy Program which is framed around four pillars of activity: 1) strengthening cross-border grantmaking; 2) advocating for a global enabling environment; 3) facilitating global convenings and conversations; and 4) developing global resources and thought leadership. In October 2022, the council launched a monthly Philanthropy for Ukraine briefing series for U.S. and Canadian foundations, in partnership with the German Marshall Fund, Community Foundations of Canada and Philanthropic Foundations of Canada. A total of 176 persons from over 100 organizations registered for the five webinars between October 2022 and February 2023. This grant increase will permit the grantee to continue the series as a set of six peer learning circle meetings, with webinars occurring every other month and the issuance of six monthly Ukraine digests over the next year. The Council on Foundations will also continue to update its online Ukraine resource hub.
