About this grant
Conectas is a Brazilian nongovernmental organization working to strengthen the social and environmental standards practiced by development finance institutions. Over the past grant period, the organization worked to promote stronger compliance with such safeguards across key financial institutions, including the Brazilian Development Bank, the New Development Bank and the Inter-American Development Bank. The organization also supported communities affected by large-scale energy and infrastructure projects. Over the next grant period, the organization will continue to advance civil society engagement and elevate the voices of impacted communities in the development and implementation of financial institutions’ policies and safeguards. Conectas will prioritize strengthening the social and environmental policies and climate commitments of targeted development banks.
