About this grant
This grant to the Flint Downtown Development Authority will support a fireworks display for both the 2024 Flint Juneteenth celebration and Independence Day festivities in July. The grantee will work with several community partners, including the city of Flint, Flint Institute of Music and Juneteenth organizers to offer a series of family-friendly activities for a multiday Juneteenth celebration, including a parade from Max Brandon Park to Riverbank Park in downtown Flint. Independence Day will also include a combination of performances, activities and fireworks. The events aim to bring the community together to commemorate important historical events in this country.
