About this grant
Since 1970, the Ecology Center has operated as a national nonprofit focused on issues related to toxic chemicals, including per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), in the environment. With prior Mott Foundation support, the grantee and its partners within the Great Lakes PFAS Action Network organized the National PFAS Conference. The grantee provided information on the impact and management strategies of PFAS to Michigan policymakers and other stakeholders. With continued Mott Foundation support, the grantee will support impacted communities to improve their communications and engagement with public officials and businesses on PFAS-related concerns. Additionally, the Ecology Center will broaden the direct engagement of the Great Lakes PFAS Action Network in more states across the Great Lakes region.
