About this grant
The project goal is to to expand justice services in the United States. To this end, Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors’ Frontline Justice Project will support a nascent, but growing movement of justice workers, a new category of legal helpers specifically trained to support people in resolving their legal challenges. It will do this by executing rigorous research and building a body of evidence on what works in expanding the scope of justice service providers. In its first year, this initiative brought together over 150 justice actors for the first time to exchange experience on effective community justice work. It also worked with 14 state level Access to Justice Commissions to identify opportunities for engaging more widely with community justice work. Frontline Justice is a new project sponsored by Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors with the aim of giving real meaning to “equal justice under law” as enshrined in the founding documents of the United States.
