About this grant
With this grant, the Genesee Intermediate School District will manage facility improvements to the former Summerfield Community School, which is currently being used as an early childhood education center owned by Flint Community Schools and operated by the intermediate school district. Repairs and upgrades will include a new roof, boiler system and windows; a replaced parking lot; and a reconfigured main entrance. Together, the updates will lead to increased energy efficiency, improved building access and aesthetics, and an enhanced learning environment for the young children and their families at the center.
