About this grant
The purpose of this grant is to provide comprehensive support to internally displaced persons and others affected by the conflict in Ukraine. Through a network of online and offline legal advice centers, Gorenie will provide legal, social and psycho-social assistance to displaced victims of conflict in four regions — Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhia, Kharkiv and Ukraine-controlled Donetsk — bordering on the conflict zone that have continued to be home to large populations of displaced persons. The grantee will provide training services for local officials to improve service delivery and integration practices related to target groups. The grantee will also work to build the self-organizing capacity of these target groups. In 2020-2023, during the period of the pandemic and subsequent full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the grantee provided legal, social and humanitarian assistance to over 300,000 people affected by conflict. Based in Dnipro, Gorenie was founded in 2005 to provide wide-ranging assistance to disadvantaged and marginalized groups throughout Ukraine.
