About this grant
The project goal is to ensure the protection of civic space and human rights in United Nations counter-terrorism responses. To this end, Saferworld USA, a nonprofit working on preventing violent conflict and addressing the drivers of insecurity, will strengthen the Civil Society Coalition on Human Rights and Counter-Terrorism. Activities will include advocacy, dedicated support for coalition partners and building the capacity of the coalition. This project responds to the growing transnational counter-terrorism architecture and its harmful implications for human rights and civic and humanitarian space. Saferworld USA will build on its efforts in the last four years to improve the discourse on counter-terrorism’s impact on civic space.
