About this grant
ODI will consolidate research into people-centered justice reforms in lower-income countries in order to identify learning, scaling and financing opportunities. Drawing on extensive research carried out to this point, the grantee will work to systematize available information for funders and policy makers to support clearer understanding of justice funding choices. Particular attention will be given to cost effectiveness and financing needs for adaptation and scaling of successful reforms. From 2021-23, the grantee carried out detailed investigations of justice delivery in over a dozen countries in Africa and Asia. The grantee produced three substantial research reports on its findings and held numerous roundtable discussions with donors and policy makers on its findings. Its work helped to clarify understanding of the broad range of justice funding mechanisms and opportunities that are in current operation. Established in 1960 and based in the United Kingdom, ODI works to inspire people to act on injustice and inequality through research, convening and advocacy.
