About this grant
The Keweenaw Bay Indian Community of the Lake Superior Band of Chippewa Indians’ homeland is located along the shores of Lake Superior in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The Community has long been devoted to the protection and stewardship of Lake Superior and the Great Lakes region, including the water, wetlands and forests within it. With funding from the Mott Foundation, the grantee will be able to address climate change impacts that are threatening the Tribe’s way of life and implement climate resiliency plans developed by the Natural Resources Department of the Keweenaw Bay Indian Community.
