About this grant

This grant to Flint Community Schools will support the initial phase of a comprehensive academic transformation initiative aimed at improving student achievement and aligning instruction across all grade levels. The initiative will focus on curriculum redesign, data-informed decision-making and strengthening the K–12 educational pipeline. As part of this work, the grantee will: 1) redesign the curriculum at the high school and Brownell-Holmes STEM Campus; 2) develop a real-time data system to track student performance; and 3) build teacher and leadership capacity through professional development and coaching. Strategic partnerships with local universities and STEM organizations will support curriculum development and career pathway opportunities. These efforts will help lay the foundation for a more coherent and effective instructional system that prepares all students for post-secondary success.
