About this grant
This grant to Flint Community Schools will support the development of a comprehensive plan to strengthen student retention and engagement by improving transitions from elementary to middle school and expanding middle school athletics programming. The initiative will explore a transition to a PreK–8 model in select schools and create new athletic and extracurricular opportunities to support student development and school connection. These efforts are designed to reduce attrition, improve academic continuity and build stronger pathways from kindergarten through high school graduation.
