About this grant
Based in Washington, D.C., the International Center for Not-for-Profit Law safeguards the legal, financial and operating environment for civil society organizations and philanthropic actors worldwide. During this grant period, the grantee will launch a new strategic plan and carry out a range of activities including: 1) engaging with multilateral and regional bodies to strengthen norms related to freedoms of association, assembly and expression; 2) providing comparative legal analysis, technical assistance and strategic advice to civil society and government actors; 3) arranging training and legal consultations; 4) producing country‑based and thematic research on laws affecting civil society and philanthropy; and 5) hosting briefings, convenings and communications efforts to counter stigmatization on the role of civil society organizations.
