About this grant
The project goal is to research and pilot best practices for access to justice innovations at the grassroots level in selected African communities. To this end, BarefootLaw will build on previous research to deepen its innovation learnings in Kenya, Zambia and Malawi. The grantee plans to do this by: 1) mapping community justice stakeholders; 2) engaging communities; and 3) training community justice actors on innovative justice approaches. The grantee will also document best practices and learnings in popular and academic publications. BarefootLaw was established in 2013 to leverage digital technologies to create new ways for people to overcome barriers to accessing legal information and justice.
