About this grant
The project goal is to surface, support and spread community foundations’ efforts that allow communities to increase civic participation, build common ground and provide a roadmap for their peers to replicate effective models. The project will be implemented by the Trust for Civic Life, a cross-ideological coalition of national philanthropic and private sector members that was established in 2023. It is a sponsored project of Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors, a global philanthropic service organization founded in 2002 that has thus far facilitated over $4 billion in grantmaking to more than 70 countries. The Trust conducts annual grantmaking, research and learning in partnership with local civic organizations, of which to date almost a third have been community foundations. Over the coming year, the Trust for Civic Life will support building common ground efforts with at least five community foundations, with a focus on rural regions including urban centers and small towns.
