About this grant
This grant will provide support for Tapology, Inc.’s Youth Outreach programs. Tap dance is an enduring American art form that increases physical activity and enhances cognitive development for participants. The grantee partners with local schools and community centers to introduce area youth to tap dance and offer regular classes for all ability levels. Each year, the grantee’s outreach programming culminates in a four-day festival that exposes local students to the art and history of tap dancing. Professional artists will continue providing instruction for beginners, as well as more advanced workshops for experienced young dancers.
