About this grant
The Center for Climate Crime Analysis Brazil is an organization connected to the Center for Climate Crime Analysis Netherlands, with a multidisciplinary team in Brazil that uses legal and geospatial analysis to detect and prevent illicit activities that drive deforestation in the Amazon. This grant will support the development and initial implementation of an environmental management plan for the MarĂ³ Indigenous Territory in ParĂ¡. In the region, illegal logging, land grabbing and expanding extractive activities are intensifying pressure on Indigenous lands. The project aims to use the planning process as a tool to strengthen Indigenous capacity to anticipate, manage and respond to emerging risks.
