About this grant

In July 2025, Trump Accounts were signed into law, facilitating a national expansion of early savings accounts. Through its Early Wealth Building Initiative, the Aspen Institute’s Financial Security Program aims to ensure the new program and similar savings initiatives are well designed and benefit all children, especially those living in underserved communities. During the renewal grant period, the grantee will prioritize two main objectives: 1) develop and diversify a bipartisan and cross-sector group of leaders and stakeholders who support early wealth accounts; and 2) inform policy discussions with evidence-based, high-quality program design and implementation principles. Planned activities during the initial grant period include policy research and analysis, convening and coalition-building, and policymaker and public education. Founded in 1949, the Aspen Institute is a global, nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering a free, just and equitable society.
