About this grant
The Institute for Economic Justice is a South African think tank working to advance economic policy that upholds human rights, community participation and environmental sustainability. With Mott Foundation support, the grantee successfully served as an Official Resource Partner to South Africa’s government during the country’s presidency of the G20. Under this new project, the Institute for Economic Justice will combine rigorous policy research with coalition building and strategic advocacy to help ensure both adequate levels of energy transition financing in South Africa as well as an investment plan that is aligned with the country’s development objectives while centering human rights, environmental protection and community priorities.
