This grant will provide funding for the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan to build a certified clean room at their Hunger Solution Center. The clean room will enable the grantee to receive and process millions of pounds of frozen vegetables on site for their Frozen Produce Program. The program will receive over one million pounds of donated produce that is high in calcium, vitamin C, and iron which are all recommended by the medical community to mitigate the effects of lead, especially in children.
